Women Safety program on Aaj Tak

Govindam Business School organized a media visit programme at Aaj Tak on Thursday, 24th October, 2013. The title of the program was: “Women Safety.” Guests of the program were Dr. Harshwardhan (BJP), Mr. Naseeb Singh (Congress) and Ms. SHAZIA ILMI (AAP). Dr. Harsh Vardhan is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha from the Krishna Nagar constituency. He is also BJP's designated candidate Chief Minister of Delhi for the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections. He has never lost any election to the Assembly, and has served in various capacities in the state cabinet during BJP's reign (1993–98), including Health Minister, Law Minister and Education Minister. Nasseb Singh is an MLA from Vishwas Nagar for 3 terms. He also never lost any election. Shazia Ilmi is an Indian politician and social activist. She was previously a television journalist and anchor at Star News. She was a spokesperson for the “India Against Corruption”movement led by Anna Hazare in 2011 and 2012. She is National executive member of Aam Aadmi Party. She has been declared as an Aam Aadmi Party candidate for the Rama Krishna Puram constituency in the December 2013 elections to the Delhi Vidhan Sabha. Following girl–students from Govindam participated in this program along with coordinator Ms. Vishakha Singh, Management Faculty.

A deep discussion conducted between the Guests and the students on the Women Safety. The condition of women in India has always been a matter of grave concern.  Since the past several centuries, the women of India were never given equal status and opportunities as compared to that of their male counterparts.

Several ways to protect and defense for the girls were discussed like self defense (via any style of martial, or Judo etc.) up to Street Fight Level.  All the girls from Govindam enhanced their knowledge as how to protect themselves in any situation.  All of them enjoyed the show and felt enthusiastic after the program.
